Läckö Slott

Magnus de la Gardie’s baroque mansion, has a magnificent location on a promontory in the Eken archipelago in Vänern outside of Lidköping. Läckö Slott is one of West Sweden's most popular tourist destinations and has been nominated as the most beautiful mansion in Sweden.

Hindens Rev 

This five-kilometre peninsula extending straight out into Lake Vänern. It is 25-100 metres wide and 21 metres above Lake Vänern at its highest point. The ultra-narrow promontory of Hindens Rev provides an enjoyable spot for a walk with an exciting sense of history.

Spikens Fiskehamn 

Spiken in summer is a delightful hive of activity, with throngs of tourists mixing with the fishermen who work here. You can purchase freshly-smoked fish, freshwater fish, processed products, local delicacies and our superb vendace roe. Here is also a range of first-class restaurants and cafés to choose from.

Hellekis Säteri & Trädgård

A manor with exotic trees and a wonderful old-fashioned rose garden. Enjoy a lovely walk in the exceptional park at Hellekis Säteri (Manor) with magnificent rose garden, flowerbeds full of perennials and the café’s delicious food and pastries.

Historical Husaby

Husaby has been attracting visitors for over a thousand years. Sweden’s first Christian king, Olof Skötkonung was baptised here. In the early Middle Ages Husaby was one of the most important settlements in the country with its church, bishop’s castle and holy wells.

Kinnekulle utsiktstorn 

Kinnekulle View Tower, built in 1892, stands 19 metres tall atop the 306-metre Kinnekulle hill. From here, the panoramic view stretches up to 90 km across Lake Vänern on clear days. A must-visit spot for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Stora Stenbrottet

The Grand Quarry on Kinnekulle is one of the most popular attractions. In addition to its breathtaking views and unique natural surroundings, the quarry also features a small fishing lake at its center. Set up your coffee break at the benches available in the quarry or why nor use one of the designated grill areas to make a barbecue.

Kinnekulle

Kinnekulle is part of UNESCO Global Geopark and biosphere reserve. It offers unique accommodation, excellent food, stunning views, and year-round activities. Lake Vänern

Lake Vänern is often referred to as an inland sea due to its size and diversity. Here, you can explore by boat, go fishing, swim, or simply enjoy the water. If you have your own boat, there are many guest harbors. Otherwise, you can join an organized tour and experience the lake’s unique nature with its 220 kilometres of shoreline and an archipelago of 22,000 islands, islets and skerries.
